We did this using gradients to colorize and layered cutouts to add depth and softness to the leaves and petals..it's fun to experiement with those for different looks.

He is a self taught artist. My first art job was in 1978, doing paintings and murals for restaurant decor for a company called Fine Line Design. After one more design firm, he went freelance in 1980.He started out doing greeting cards and book covers.

When he broke into the movie business there was no looking back. During a meeting, he was once given a business card of an art director at Disney Home Video. When he went to the meeting he had among other things, eight sketches he had done for the movie poster of Ruthless People. After six art directors looked through my color samples, one of them said, "We're looking for someone to do comps for the video box cover for a movie called Ruthless People." He smiled, and reached into the back flap of my portfolio. He brought out his sketches and asked, "like these?". They could only say one thing, "You're hired". Thus began a wonderful relationship with the Mouse.

He has 3 cats, Lynx, Shiloh, and Zeta
